CALGARY, September 6, 2024 — Kathairos Solutions is proud to showcase the immense speed, scale and reach of its nitrogen-powered methane mitigation system through never-before-seen footage of its exclusive partnership with cryogenic equipment manufacturer Chart Industries.
The campaign offers an extraordinary glimpse into the technology’s journey from inception to installation, beginning at Chart's Ball Ground, Georgia manufacturing facility and ending at thousands of oil and gas well sites across the US and Canada.
The Kathairos-Chart decarbonization system stores liquid nitrogen in a standalone tank and vaporizes it into clean, dry, inert nitrogen gas to power well site controls. It has no moving parts and requires no maintenance or outside power, rendering it the ideal solution for eliminating methane emissions at remote facilities.
In line with Kathairos and Chart’s shared commitment to supporting the energy industry in quickly and effectively addressing methane emissions, each unit is built and delivered within eight weeks or less. Upon arrival at the customer's site, the cryogenic tank is tied in at a single connection point, nitrogen replaces methane as a fuel source for the pneumatic control systems, and vented emissions are immediately brought to zero.
“Methane venting is the most pressing emissions issue facing the oil and gas industry,” said Dick Brown, President and CEO of Kathairos. “As the need to decarbonize upstream and midstream operations amplifies and regulatory compliance tightens, the need for a scalable, economical solution is paramount.”
Chart’s unmatched production capacity and expertise, combined with Kathairos’ proprietary application and North American nitrogen distribution network, offer a proven path to eliminating methane emissions at oil and gas facilities of every size, design and location in basins across the United States and Canada.
Together, the cleantech leaders are answering the call for a simple, reliable and cost-effective way to address more than 400,000 US and Canadian oil and gas facilities currently venting methane in their routine operations.
