CALGARY, AB — September 25, 2026 — Kathairos Solutions has been ranked No. 1 of 375 companies on The Globe and Mail's 2026 Report on Business Top Growing Companies list, based on verified three-year revenue growth of 16,379%. The ranking marks how far a technology founded in Alberta has come: from an idea aimed at one of the industry's hardest emissions problems to a fixture on well sites across North America.
Methane is one of the oil and gas industry's most closely watched environmental issues — regulators, investors and the public increasingly treat its mitigation as a leading indicator of how seriously an operator takes emissions. Pneumatic controllers and pumps remain one of the largest and most persistent sources of methane venting, which was one of the hardest to fix without adding cost, power, or complexity to a site. It's the problem Kathairos was founded to solve, with support from the provincial and federal governments, industry associations, First Nations and many partners within Alberta’s methane ecosystem
Kathairos owes its start to three operators, ExxonMobil, Ovintiv, and Cenovus, who were willing to trial the technology in 2022. That early support has since multiplied south of the border, where a growing number of the largest operators in the U.S. have scaled the technology across their own operations.

Kathairos' growth has tracked a shift already underway in the industry: operators are increasingly expected to show emissions performance the same way they report production,. Pneumatic venting is one of the easiest sources of emissions they can eliminate immediately. Moreover, once operators start using Kathairos’ nitrogen-based methane elimination system, its ease of operation and perfect reliability compels them to continue adding the nitrogen systems across their operations. Kathairos now operates at more than 3,000 well sites for 60+ operators, and in June 2026 passed 1,000,000 tons of CO2-equivalent eliminated on an empirical, measured basis.
That shift isn’t unique to North America: the European Union’s methane regulation and tightening standards across Asia and South America demonstrate a broader trend of methane reduction requirements from oil and gas operations.
Kathairos’ No. 1 ranking reflects the oil and gas industry’s demand for simple methane solutions. Some of the largest operators in North America looked for a simpler way to run their sites, found it in a Calgary-built technology, and are scaling it across their operations.
